Finemachiyamoché
(Where are you going Moshé?)

In 1963, shortly after Morocco obtained its independence from France, many Moroccan Jews left their homeland in secrecy to immigrate to the young state of Israel. The Moroccan Jews from the small village of Bejjad were organizing also their secret departure with the help of their Rabbi. Worried, they wonder if Berbeq’ha, the village idiot, will be able to leave.

When Mustapha, the manager of the only bar in Bejjad, learning of these departures, he panics. If all the non-Muslim leave the village, he will be forced to close down the bar. How to stop this? By keeping one Jew! The idea comes from Hassan his son, in love with Rachel a Jewish girl, daughter of Shlomo, the town musician. What will happen to the bar in Bejjad?
